Frequently Asked Questions

Which airport should I fly into?

Reno-Tahoe International (RNO) is the closest airport- about 1 hour drive to Sierra Hot Springs. Sacramento International Aiport (SMF) is about a 2 hour drive to Sierra Hot Springs Resort. You are welcome to rent a car and drive yourself to the resort. With snow on the ground, tire chains will be required. Checkpoints will stop you if you don't have them so make sure you do. Arrival and Departure Schedule

Guests are welcome to arrive as early as 12pm on Friday, March 13th. You will be greeted with a warm welcome beverage of your choice and shown around. Prepare to be ready to meet our retreat group for a delicious welcome dinner at 6pm. Monday, March 16th is departure day. Our last day together on retreat will conclude with a hearty brunch at 11:00am. You can arrange to leave at 2pm or plan a little extra time for one last soak in the hot springs. Arrangements can be made to arrive/depart a day earlier or later. Please contact Cara if needed.

What kind of weather should I pack for?

Prepare for winter wonderland in the Sierra Mountains. Temperatures will be 30-40's during the day and 20's at night. There will be snow on the ground and it might even snow while we're there! That being said, pack warmer clothes for morning and evening activities. We will have no problem staying warm with heat in our rooms, woodstoves in larger rooms, and of course the hot springs water. Bring your spa attire as well- bathrobe, slippers, bathing suit.

I've never done yoga or been on a yoga retreat before...

That is absolutely okay! All of the yoga classes will be suited for beginners with options for advanced yogis. All of the classes that I teach are designed for ALL bodies and aimed to give your body what it needs. This particular yoga retreat is all about self care, relaxation, and taking some time off. You should feel right at home in the cozy Lodge and feel warmly welcomed with our group. If this is your first time on retreat and even if it's not, expect to enjoy a weekend leaving you feeling so good you won't want to leave.

Without a question, Yoga - and all of it's counterparts - has repeatedly offered a path inward, through & to my deepest levels of being. I envision so many beautiful moving pieces for this retreat. I look forward to inspiring intimate self-reflection & awareness through guided meditations, journaling prompts & as your Yoga Nidra guide. I delight in helping attendees develop dynamic insight as to the nature of the voice within, the wisdom of each body among us, & the depth of our own abilities to deeply heal and to transform. I can't wait to share comfortable, compassionate space with each of you; and to create mediums for individual self care & self healing. It is my honor and privilege to collaborate with a dear friend and colleague in such a magical place as this.
